Two-Time Canadian Champion Werner Lomker Looking to Reclaim “World’s Fastest Pizza Maker” Title
WINDSOR, Ontario, May 7, 2026 – Domino’s Pizza of Canada (DPC)’s Werner Lomker will compete against pizza makers from around the globe in front of 9,000 spectators for the coveted title of World’s Fastest Pizza Maker at the upcoming Domino’s Worldwide Rally in Las Vegas, Nevada this month.
Domino’s began the World’s Fastest Pizza Maker competition in 1982 to honour the company’s philosophy of efficiency and excellence in stores. Participants must prepare three large pizzas, one pepperoni, one mushroom and one cheese, under strict time constraints and quality standards.
Lomker will compete against the world’s top 18 participants, having emerged as a leader through several qualifying rounds at the regional and national levels.
He brought the World Championship title to Canadian soil for the first time in 2018 and again in 2020, where Lomker finished the competition in an impressive 47.56 seconds – equal to making each pizza in roughly 15 seconds.
“I am excited and honoured to represent Canada again,” said Lomker. “Competing on that stage alongside the world’s best, in front of that crowd, it’s hard to describe the feeling. I have a great support system of family and team members, and my daughter will be there in the crowd, so bringing this trophy home would be extra special.”
Lomker, raised in Mississauga, Ontario, grew up at Domino’s stores and has been a part of the business for over 30 years. His father was a franchisee owner and Lomker spent years alongside his family helping with their seven stores – handing out flyers, hosting special events and making pizzas on a weekend rush.
He now owns 27 stores across Canada, spreading from Hamilton, Ontario to Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Having won 20 national pizza-making titles and two world championship titles, Lomker has an impressive track record. It is this decorative history of accomplishments, alongside his dedication to communities across Canada, that are paving the way for his legacy at Domino’s Pizza Canada and beyond.
“This competition is more than who can make the fastest pizza,” said Lomker. “It’s bigger than that and it’s bigger than me. It represents the passion behind what we do and the standard of excellence we hold ourselves to, even under pressure. When I am up there competing in front of the world, I am doing it for my teams in stores across Canada.”
Lomker’s return to the global stage is a testament to his commitment to excellence and the brand.
As he prepares to compete again, his DPC family wishes him the best, and regardless of the outcome, he will continue to make Canada proud every step of the way.
